2010 Contest Guidelines & Rules Please submit entries in one of the following categories Grade 4-6 students are encouraged to submit a poster that shows their One Simple Act. Hand drawn only, no computer imaging. Grades 7-9 and 10-12 are encouraged to submit in the following three categories: Photo, Video and Original Art that demonstrates their One Simple Act. * Participants must live in and attend a school in Alberta. Photographs and Videos * Photos should be a minimum 1MB, suitable for printing at 5'x7', and be submitted in jpeg format. * Internet images will be disqualified, digital photos should have date and location stated. * A 25-75 word description of the One Simple Act must be included. * The One Simple Act logo should appear in the picture or video. The image is available for download from the Artworks website: www.artworksalberta.org/images/OSAImage.jpg. * Videos may be submitted in the following formats: wmv, mov or swf. * Limit of one entry per person. Submissions become property of Environmental Artworks Foundation of Alberta (EAFA) and the One Simple Act Program. Submissions will not be returned. The EAFA and the One Simple Act Program retains the right to use any items submitted for promotional purposes. Winning entries and other selected entries may also appear on the One Simple Act website www.onesimpleact.alberta.ca Posters * Posters must incorporate creative and original art work and ideas. Cartoon, video game, movie/television characters etc. will not be considered as original and cannot be used in the poster. * Posters must be a minimum of 11” x 17” and maximum of 24" x 36". Posters must be on white poster paper, larger or smaller entries will not be accepted. Posters should not be laminated. * Any media may be used (watercolor, pen and ink, collage, crayon, markers etc.), however, posters must be flat, not 3-D. * A 25-75 word description of the One Simple Act must be included. * For privacy issues please do not place any information such as name, age or school on the front of the poster. Submissions become property of Environmental Artworks Foundation of Alberta (EAFA) and the One Simple Act Program. Submissions will not be returned.
